Designed for Summer Soirée

Description

In association with the Boston Society for Architecture's Residential Design Committee, architect Daniel Steger (BRAGB Member) will put on the Designed for Summer Soirée at his Bellevue Hill residence, one of the primary sets of the Academy Award-winning film American Fiction.

Kick back with your design collaborators: architects, interior designers, and builders. 

  • Jazz trio formed from Tony Bennett’s backup band courtesy of Marvin Windows & Doors 
  • Open bar with passed hors d’oeuvres and crudités. 
  • Grilled food courtesy of Kalamazoo Outdoor Gourmet. 
  • Two AIA Learning Units for talks given by glass artist James McLeod (featured at the Venice Biennale) and metal artist Erica Moody (featured in media ranging from New York Magazine to Saveur). Both work with architects, interior designers, and builders to create bespoke installations for new builds, additions, and renovations. 
  • Tour the home, an 1895 Queen Anne Victorian that was used as a setting for many of the scenes in a film based on a novel by National Book Award winner Percival Everett, starring Jeffrey Wright, Tracee Ellis Ross, Leslie Uggams, and Sterling K. Brown.

There’s plenty of street parking. Prefer to take the MBTA? Access by Commuter Rail NEEDHAM line at South Station, Back Bay, or Ruggles and get off at Highland Station. From there it’s a leisurely 10-minute walk. Or, hop on the Orange Line and get off at Forest Hills. From there share an Uber.
